It's quite small and doesn't absorb water at all. If you want to use it for a water bowl it will soak the floor.
Got it for our 30kg dog (smaller side of a large dog), and it works very well.
She is a rough eater and we needed something sturdy that does not get pushed around when she eats. This one works greatly, especially when used with a sturdy food stand on top of it!
We are also very happy that these two items we got from different stores perfectly work together :-)
